TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka’s Security Benefit gave back to a local non-profit that provides mental health services to the community.
Security Benefit donated $12,500 to Florence Crittenton Services on Wednesday to mark the nonprofit’s 125th year of service to the Topeka area.
“This year, we’ve been celebrating our 125 years of service to the Topeka community, and the reason we’ve been able to continue on services, and I think adapt and innovate and change over those 125 years, is because of the support of the community,” said Dana Schoffelman, CEO of Florence Crittenton Services. “When we do have those strong partnerships, it allows us to do even more.”
The donation is designated to support Florence Crittenton’s mental health services and programs, including treatment, education, and supportive services, for Topeka residents and surrounding communities.
Schoffelman says Security Benefit has been supportive of Florence Crittenton expanding its Heat Up Topeka wellness program, for example. A program that encourages patients to move and take care of their bodies, while promoting positivity, hope, and confidence.
